The Indianapolis metro area has several companies offering Electric, Gas, Water & Sewer services.  Based on your address, you are assigned specific providers based on their designated service territories.                              

We have organized this information in a manner that we hope is simple to navigate.  We have also placed links to the actual websites of these companies for your convenience.  Simply click on the name or logo to open it.   Some companies offer online applications to Start or End your services.

Indianapolis Power & Light (IPL) is the primary electric provider for the city of Indianapolis.  IPL also services the communities of Beech Grove and Speedway.  Visit the IPL website to place your online request to begin service or schedule a final reading.  You can call IPL toll free at (888) 261-8222 or locally (317) 261-8222 to access automated account information or speak to a customer service representative.   

       

Citizens Gas is the primary natural gas provider for Indianapolis.  It also provides gas service to some areas of Westfield.  Visit the Citizens Gas website for more information about its services.  You will need to call the customer service center to connect or end your gas service.  You can call Citizens toll free at (800) 427-4217 or locally at (317) 924-3311.

        

Indianapolis Water Company (IWC) is the primary water service provider for several communities around the Indianapolis metro area.  Besides servicing the majority of Indianapolis, IWC also provides service to parts of Avon, Zionsville, Carmel, Fishers, and Noblesville.  You will need to call the customer service center to start or end your service.  You can reach IWC toll free at (877) 631-1431 or locally at (317) 631-1431.

Duke Energy provides electric service for the majority of communities surrounding Indianapolis.  Duke offers a convenient online application to start and end your electric service.  Service areas include portions of the following counties: Boone, Hamilton, Hancock, Hendricks, Johnson, Morgan, and Shelby.  To contact the customer service at Duke Energy, call toll free (800) 521-2232.

Vectren Energy Delivery provides natural gas service to the majority of communities surrounding Indianapolis.  Vectren features an online application to start and end your gas service.  Service areas include portions of the following counties: Boone, Hamilton, Hancock, Hendricks, Johnson, Morgan, and Shelby.  To reach Vectren's customer service, call toll free (800) 777-2060.

Boone REMC is an electric utility cooperative serving over 9,500 customers in parts of Boone, Clinton, Hamilton, Hendricks and Montgomery counties.  You can reach Boone REMC toll free (800) 897-7362 or locally at (765) 482-2390.

Carmel Water-Wastewater Utilities provides service to residents in thte majority of Carmel.  You can reach Carmel Water-Wastewater Utilities at (317) 571-2442.

Central Indiana Power provides electricity to a large percentage of homes in Hancock County, and parts of Hamilton, Madison, and Rush Counties.  You can reach Central Indiana Power at (317) 477-2200.

Greenfield Utilities provides various services to residents of Greenfield.  It's website gives you the option to download utility service agreement forms, read FAQs, and find appropriate contact information for city utilities.  You can reach Greenfield Utilites at (317) 477-4370 or (317) 477-4350.

Residents of Noblesville may need to contact the City of Noblesville to set up sewer service.  You can reach Noblesville Sewer at (317) 776-6353.

Hendricks Power Cooperative provides electricity and energy services to customers in west central Indiana, including some areas of Brownsburg, Avon, Pittsboro, & Plainfield.  Call Hendricks Power toll free (800) 876-5473 or locally (317) 745-5473.

Indiana American Water provides water service to parts of Noblesville, as well as parts of Johnson, Morgan, and Shelby Counties.  The Indiana American Water website provides information about connecting and transferring you water service.  You can reach them toll free (800) 492-8373.

Johnson County REMC provides electric service to various properties in parts of Johnson, Shelby, Morgan, and Brown Counties.  You can reach Johnson County REMC at (317) 736-6174.

Lawrence Utilities provides water and sewer services to the majority of residents in the City of Lawrence.  It's service area covers approximately 21 square miles in the northeastern part of Marion County.  A meter deposit will typically be required for new customers.  Call Lawrence Utilities at (317) 542-0511.

McCordsville Public Works handles sanitation and trash pickup; stormwater utility; wastewater utility; and permitting.  Call McCordsville Public Works at (317) 335-3493.

The Town of Fishers provides sewer service to central portions of Fishers west of Lantern Rd and south of 126th St.  Call Fishers Sewer at (317) 595-3141.  Hamilton Southeastern Utilities (HSE) provides sewer service to most of the remaining areas of Fishers.  Call HSE Utilities at (317) 577-2300.

The Town of Westfield Public Works handles water and wastewater services for some parts of Westfield.  Call Westfield Public Works at (317) 867-1116.
